Since No One Comes To Visit Me...I Will Come To You

A pictorial tour of my office.

Entering the door of the office one encounters a picture of beauty there in front of you on the floor.  No one dares to tarnish its inherent beauty.

Next, you are awash in the heavens of Carolina Blue by the desk shroud that Amanda made for me.  the multi-iconic pattern simply hums with the life such beauty inspires.

Next, your envying eyes are hypnotically drawn to "The Shrine!"  Housing a plethora of magnificent artifacts depicting the depth and breadth of
Tarheel-dom here in Idaho, "The Shrine!" honors the best and brightest of Tarheel Nation.

Housed to the right of "The Shrine!" is a throwback to a bygone era.  We are able to revisit the days when the greatest player ever to play the game roamed the court.  The picture is obviously self explanatory.

These next series of pictures depict some of my most cherished possessions.  Here displayed, you see some of the artifacts provided to me by my wonderful children and/or grandchildren!  A few of these are:

  • The Worry-Rock and homemade box, Daughter Book, & Golf Club pencils from Amanda
  • PT Cruisers and shattered backboard chunk from Ernie
  • Mouse and Penguin stones from Karli
  • Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock and 1/2 brick from Dallas from Travis
  • Satellite circling the earth from Emily

And of course...my pictures!  I could not show them all, there are many, many more.

Well thanks for visiting!

Big Dan Erekson - Big Ten Heavyweight Champion

My nephew, Big Dan Erekson won the heavyweight title at the Big Ten Wrestling Tournament today!  These photos were taken from my TV as I watched the recording of the match.

Here is a photo of Grandpa, Billy, Angie the Beautiful and Grandma in the stands.  I looks like they are really excited for his win.  He is one of 10 Iowa wrestlers who qualify for the Nationals!

The answer is...Nooooooooooo! They are not coming back.

To anyone dumb enough to think that a good game against Duke would be coming needed to have to sit through the entire game watching it without any snacks, by themselves...like I did.  It is sad enough that the game commentators said the Tarheels were "on the bubble" for an NIT bid.  That is really sad!  I did not know the NIT had a bubble!  Here's to at least one win in the ACC tournament, because an NCAA bid will not come without four straight wins in the tourney.  Like the kid said in Angels in the Outfield, "Hey!  It could happen!!

And why is Tyler Zeller always in a picture on the Tarheel web site?

Are the TarHeels coming back?

I want to hope that the recovery is under way.  Roy thinks they can control their own destiny and make the dance without having to win the ACC tourney.  Like the professor said on The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes..."We live in hope".  Or, as Chief Dan George stated to Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josie Wells..."We must endeavor to persevere."

Santa Baby?

I have been known to have random thoughts that really have no purpose.  My mind just works that way.  Little things come to mind and I spend too much time pondering them.  Like this one:  What would it look like if the heavyweight wrestling champion of the Big 10 were caught on film singing Santa Baby at a family Christmas Eve gathering?  Now, you may ask, why would anyone bother spending time on something like that?  Like I said, that is just me.

3 Days in AZ that shook the world!!

I just recently returned from three very eventful days in AZ.  Great room, great food and great football.

Above is St. Vince outside the stadium before the Packers game.  People were standing in line to get a picture with him.  I fooled them all, I just took a picture of him...I did miss him blessing my Packer pursuits.

Here is the view of the game from our seats.  Great seats for a great game.  The AZ Cardinal fans were very accommodating...especially when the Pack blew them out.  Too bad the next game was not the same.

Here is the Prime Rib that Ryan ordered.  Billy ordered one also.  I stayed with a measly 22 oz Ribeye.  This was around 40 oz.  Billy was ashamed - he had never not finished a steak before.  He and Ryan chose to walk back to the hotel so they could sleep that night.

These two are scenes from the Fiesta Bowl Pre-Game party.  I wonder where all of the TCU fans were?

The home for the Fiesta Bowl.  I wonder how good the University of Phoenix football team is?  They have a great stadium...why have I never heard about them?

No Ernie...it is not what you think that is on my head.  It is a potato hat given to me by one of the BSU cheerleaders.  I did not wear it for much of the game so the family can quit hiding.

This is the scene from the trophy presentation.  I am now a converted BSU football fan.  What a great game and wonderful environment.  I hope to attend some more of these.  Keep winning BSU...and thanks Mom and Bill for the trip!!!
